John Jija joins Shine’s specialist team as Dual Diagnosis Lead
Shine Partnerships Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of John Jija as Dual Diagnosis Lead. John joins Shine’s growing team of specialist practitioners providing high quality [CQC Registered] supported living and floating support services for forensic and/or complex needs mental health service users.
Skills and experience
John Jija brings a range of skills to the team, such as Functional Imagery Training, Person-Centred Mindfulness-Based Counselling, and treatment of Substance Misuse in Addiction /Mental Health. He is also trained to deliver the Glenholme co-occurring disorder programme and has many other qualifications in psychology and counselling of individuals with mental health and (dual diagnosis) co-occurring disorders, as well as techniques such as Auricula Acupuncture and Indian Head Massage.
Starting his career in Plymouth, John has been involved in the care and treatment of substance misuse and mental health problems since 2008.
What John Jija brings to Shine
John’s role is to build therapeutic alliances with all service users that will enable Shine to provide meaningful interventions to individuals with co-occurring disorders. This requires him to continually develop therapeutic alliances and work alongside service users to continually assess their psychological, emotional, social and rehabilitative aspirations within a structured motivational interviewing approach.
Working alongside the rest of the Shine Partnerships team, John will develop effective treatment interventions, recovery orientated tasks planning, and evaluation and monitoring structures. An important part of this is to maintain and strengthen relationships with families, voluntary sectors and statutory sectors.
As part of Shine’s commitment to professional and practice development, John will also create new, innovative, evidence-based practices. These are intended to provide new avenues of ongoing improvement in the services offered to clients by Shine Partnerships.
